Despite suffering a hand injury from a motorcycle incident, one graduate did not let that deter him from pursuing his passion for helping others. Being a Senior Staff Nurse in the Central Sterile Supply Unit at Khoo Teck Puat hospital, he takes pride in the important role he plays at the "Heart of the Hospital". With a goal of becoming a mentor in the future, he took up Northumbria University's (NU) Nursing Degree to gain new skills and improve himself.
Another graduate, too, understands the value of continuous learning. After a 10-year hiatus from her studies, Nurul decided to take a Nursing Degree from NU to improve herself and ensure that she is up-to-date with the latest practices to provide the best service to patients. As a nurse in the Radiology Department at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Nurul hopes to be an inspiration to the younger generation who wish to enter the field of Nursing.

Despite initial doubts by his family on his choice of work, one graduate's nursing skills were validated when he accurately identified his father's stroke symptoms which led to critical and timely medical attention. Currently working in the Central Sterile Supply Department at Raffles Hospital, he emphasises the importance of work-life balance and continuous learning. He believes that a clear mind, the result of getting sufficient rest and personal time, is essential for effective work performance. As he pursues the Bachelor of Science Nursing (Top-up) programme from Northumbria University at Kaplan, he aspires to become a leader in the growing nursing industry.

Five years ago, at the age of 71, Mr Nadarajoo Sivanandan (Siva) defied expectations by receiving a Diploma in Legal Studies. Despite having a successful career as a court interpreter and retiring in 2010, Mr Siva's lifelong dream of studying law remained unfulfilled.
Hence, in 2018, with a friend's encouragement, he enrolled in a Diploma programme at Kaplan and reacquainted himself with classroom learning and technology. Now retired, Mr Siva remains active, balancing part-time translation work, volunteer service and his love for the Tamil language.

One graduate's deep interest and curiosity about the human body and its potential led her to take up archery and start an archery business. While transitioning from religious studies at Madrasah Aljunied Al-Islamiah to the field of sports science, she was naturally faced with indecision and doubt. However, she remained resilient, persistent and willing to accept change. She was ultimately given the opportunity to assume the role of a Manager at a Local GP Clinic and is currently pursuing a specialist diploma in biomedical and pharmaceutical engineering at a polytechnic to better understand how technology interacts with healthcare. She believes that education is a lifelong journey, and one should not be afraid to explore new areas.

One graduate shared how she overcame various struggles to eventually complete her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Human Resources Management Degree with Murdoch University at Kaplan. Despite having to juggle the demands of her programme and a new full-time job where she was given the responsibility of leading a team of 16 members, she never gave up and persevered. Eventually, she completed her Degree successfully and learnt how to apply the knowledge and soft skills she gained from her programme to her workplace.

At the ripe old age of 75, Mr Nadarajoo Sivanandan (Siva) was finally able to receive his long-awaited Diploma certificate up on stage at a graduation ceremony. Having left school for more than half a century, Mr Siva nearly gave up at the beginning of his Diploma in Legal Studies programme given the challenges he faced. However, Mr Siva pushed on with the support of his ex-colleague and classmates and managed to complete his studies in 2019.
